2027: ‘We Are Madly in Love With Tinubu’ — Udengs Eradiri Fires Back at Amaechi

BAYELSA STATE — The Director of Media of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Bayelsa State chapter, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, has declared that supporters of President Bola Tinubu remain committed to his re-election in 2027, dismissing a reported remark by former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi against those intending to vote for the President.

Eradiri, in a statement issued at the weekend, described Amaechi’s reported comment that Tinubu’s supporters were thieves and mad people as reckless and insulting.

“We are madly in love with Tinubu and we want to vote for him. We are not thieves and we do not have any mental problem. President Tinubu is our democratic choice and we will re-elect him for a second term,” he said.

He argued that Tinubu deserved another four years to consolidate his administration’s reforms, insisting that opposition politicians should focus on presenting credible alternatives rather than insulting voters.

Eradiri also questioned Amaechi’s role in the APC’s past electoral campaigns, arguing that it was contradictory for the former governor to disparage Nigerians who supported a party he had previously campaigned for.

The TSG media director further challenged Amaechi to address allegations previously raised by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike concerning transactions and projects during his tenure as Rivers State governor, including the Olympia Hotel transaction, the sale of four state-owned power plants and the abandoned monorail project.

On regional development, Eradiri criticised Amaechi over his reported opposition to the establishment of the Nigeria Maritime University in Okerenkoko, Delta State, during his tenure as Minister of Transportation.

He called on INEC, the NBC and the Nigeria Police Force to ensure compliance with relevant rules governing political campaigns, urging candidates to promote their policies and achievements rather than engage in name-calling.

Eradiri reaffirmed the group’s determination to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election, dismissing the opposition ticket involving former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Amaechi as “dead on arrival.”

The allegations and political claims cited in the statement have not been independently verified.
