A renowned Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has been declared the 2027 presidential flag bearer of the African Action Congress (AAC).
The declaration was made during the party’s presidential primaries held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Sowore emerged as the party’s candidate after receiving unanimous endorsement from delegates and party leaders present at the event, reaffirming his influence within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Following his emergence, he was presented with the party’s flag in celebration of his victory at the primaries.
Speaking after accepting the nomination to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 presidential election, Sowore stated that the AAC was founded in pursuit of building a new Nigeria.
He also expressed appreciation to delegates drawn from across the country for their sacrifice, perseverance and belief in the party’s vision.
He had earlier noted that the party remains focused on confronting corruption, bad governance, insecurity and economic hardship affecting millions of Nigerians.
Sowore also vowed that with Nigerians support, he will defeat the current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
