A Federal lawmaker, Abdulmalik Zubairu, has renovated the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Maru Unit office and donated a vehicle to the Corps’ Special Marshals in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Zubairu represents Bungudu/Maru federal constituency of Zamfara.
The FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Aliyu Ma’aji, made the disclosure on Monday in Gusau while formally presenting the vehicle to the Special Marshals.
According to Ma’aji, the lawmaker also “polished” the office of the sector commander with befitting facilities to enhance the working environment for staff and improve service delivery.
Ma’aji described the intervention as timely, saying it would boost the morale of officers and support the corps’ operations in traffic management, public enlightenment, and emergency response across the state.
He commended the lawmaker for the gesture and called on other public-spirited individuals and stakeholders to support FRSC in its mandate of ensuring safer roads and reducing crashes across the state.
Receiving the vehicle, the State Coordinator of FRSC Special Marshals in Zamfara, Muhammad Idris, appreciated the commitment of the state command and pledged the continued support of the special marshals in the fight against traffic violations in the state.
He also described the lawmaker as a role model for everyone in Zamfara, noting that the gesture demonstrated commitment to public service and support for the security and safety of the state.
The special marshals equally urged other stakeholders to emulate the gesture to strengthen road safety operations not only in Zamfara but across Nigeria. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
