Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the payment of 30 percent of basic salary and pension as 13th month salary and end-of-year bonus for civil servants, pensioners, and political appointees in the state.
The announcement was made by the state Head of Service, Yakubu Sani Haidara, in a press statement issued to journalists in Gusau. The total amount released for the payments is N800,126,835.74.
Haidara explained that the payment structure allocates 30 percent of basic salary for civil servants and political appointees, and 30 percent of basic pension for retirees. The gesture is intended to enhance the welfare and morale of public servants and pensioners, aligning with Governor Lawal’s Rescue Mission and people-centered policies since his administration began.
He urged civil servants to reciprocate the initiative with renewed diligence, dedication, and commitment to duty.
“As the Head of the Civil Service, I enjoin all civil servants to remain good ambassadors of the Service and Government, upholding discipline, transparency, and accountability in their responsibilities,” Haidara said.
Haidara also expressed gratitude to Governor Lawal for his consistent commitment to the welfare of civil servants and for ongoing reform initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development in the state.
