Franc Utoo, a lawyer and native of Yelwata, has reacted after some suspects linked to the massacre in Yelwata community in Benue State on June 13 and 14, 2025, were arraigned in court.
In an interview with News Central TV, Utoo said he personally knows four of the eight suspects who were brought before the court. He stated that they were part of the group that attacked his village. He said more than 200 armed men invaded Yelwata with AK-47 rifles and he knows the names of at least 80 of them who are still moving freely.
Utoo questioned what has happened to Alhaji Yusuf Garba. He said Garba, who drives a Sharan vehicle, transported fuel to Yelwata on the evening of June 13, 2025. He stated that the fuel was used to burn houses and several people, including his relatives and friends
