A controversial message from a pastor has stirred reactions on social media after she advised women to hand over 100% of their salaries to their husbands.
According to the pastor, a virtuous wife’s salary should belong entirely to her spouse, who then decides whether to give her any portion of it.
Pastor claims virtuous wives should hand entire salary to husbands
“Your full salary should go directly to your husband. It is up to him to give you some of it if he chooses,” the pastor said.
The pastor explained that her own salary account is effectively her husband’s account.
She claimed that she never touches her salary of ₦200,000 until her husband allows her to, arguing that this is an example of proper submission and marital virtue.
She emphasised that there is no 50/50 sharing in a marriage of this kind, and that women who question the practice should refrain from doing so.
The sermon has prompted intense debate online, with some Nigerians condemning the advice as outdated and misogynistic, while others argue it reflects personal family choices.
