A lecturer at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has sparked widespread outrage after angrily telling his students that he would not return to the class until examination period.

The incident, which was captured in a video now circulating on social media, has triggered intense debate about professionalism and lecturer-student relations in Nigerian universities.
In the viral clip, the visibly angry lecturer was heard shouting at the students, saying, “Your father, I will never come to this class again until your exams.”
Although the exact cause of his outburst has not been officially confirmed, the confrontation appeared to have stemmed from a disagreement or misconduct during the lecture.
The video has since attracted massive attention online, with many Nigerians criticising the lecturer’s choice of words and approach to discipline.
Several commentators argued that regardless of provocation, educators are expected to maintain decorum and follow institutional procedures when handling students.
