“Yahoo is now outdated. Na luck you get no be update dey make you big” – Gehgeh

A social media influencer, known as Gehgeh, has sparked discussion online after claiming that luck, not skill or knowledge, is the main factor behind success in internet fraud, popularly referred to as “yahoo” in Nigeria.

In a viral video, Gehgeh described the difference between temporary success and long-term skill in the controversial online practice.

In the clip, Gehgeh stated, “Things wey go slow you down, number 1 yahoo. It’s outdated. Na luck you get, no be update make you big. Na luck. Na God do am for you. When you go know say na luck is when time don reach and nobody pick again, your eye go clear.”

He added “that period wey them pick and your hand dey hot, you tear one car, build house, tear another car, you’ll think say you sabi everything or you know the yahoo. If the hand con dey cold and you try that same thing, na that time you go know say omo na grace, you just only get luck that time no be say you sabi anything.”
