A Nigerian woman has cried out on social media after her driver, identified as Ibrahim, allegedly duplicated her house key and stole a box filled with dollars meant for her daughter’s school fees abroad.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @ChukErics, the distraught woman revealed that she had trusted Ibrahim completely and even treated him like family, only to be betrayed in the most shocking way.
She recounted returning home to find her bedroom door slightly open, which made her suspicious. Upon checking her drawers, she discovered that the box of foreign currency she had saved for her daughter’s tuition was missing.
Fighting back tears, she said:
“I still can’t believe Ibrahim would do this to me. He made a copy of my house key and waited for me to leave before sneaking in. The money was meant for my daughter’s school fees abroad.”
According to her, she had treated the driver kindly and paid him well, making the betrayal even more painful. She shared CCTV footage of the incident and pleaded for help in locating Ibrahim.
Social media users have expressed shock, describing Ibrahim as a calm and quiet man who never showed signs of dishonesty.
The incident has since sparked conversations online about trust, the risks of employing domestic staff, and the importance of conducting thorough background checks before hiring anyone into one’s home.
