Wike: No Favourite Area in FCT Development Drive

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that infrastructure development in Abuja will be evenly distributed across all districts without preference for any particular area.

Wike made the statement on Wednesday during the flag-off of new projects in the Guzape and Asokoro areas of the FCT.

“In my constitutional duties to provide infrastructure for the FCT, I have no favourite area, but be rest assured that the development will reach every part of Abuja,” the minister said.

He explained that his administration’s focus is on delivering the dividends of democracy to all residents of the capital city, regardless of location. “As a minister, I stay in Asokoro village. My goal is to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the Federal Capital Territory,” he stated.

Wike added that his vision is to make Abuja as competitive as major cities in the developed world and called on youths to support contractors to ensure timely completion of projects. “I implore the youth to cooperate with the contractors so that they could execute the project in good time for the benefit of all Abuja residents,” he urged.
