Prophet Joshua Iginla, the founder of Champions Royal Assembly, has addressed the frequent criticism directed at prophetic ministers, explaining why they are often less accepted than other church leaders. He attributed this trend to the unique nature of their calling and the level of spiritual conflict associated with their role.
In a recent sermon shared on YouTube, Iginla reflected on a question he was asked concerning why prophets seem to attract more public scrutiny compared to other pastors who appear to receive broader acceptance. In response, he emphasized that the distinction lies in the demands and intensity of prophetic ministry.
He described the prophetic office as a frontline assignment, one that involves direct engagement with spiritual opposition. According to him, this heightened exposure naturally invites resistance, misunderstanding, and criticism from both within the Christian community and beyond.
To clarify his point, Iginla compared roles within the church to a military structure, where responsibilities differ based on assignment and level of exposure. He explained that just as soldiers have varying duties, ministers also operate in different capacities depending on their calling.
“They don’t know what it means to sustain bullet and still be fighting,” he said, portraying prophets as individuals who function under intense spiritual pressure that others may not encounter.
He further illustrated that while some ministers take on supportive or administrative responsibilities, others are positioned for direct confrontation. Expanding on this analogy, he noted, “There are pastors who are like signals in the army; they transmit messages, they are not on the battlefield.”
Iginla stressed that a lack of understanding about these differences often results in unfair comparisons and misplaced criticism among Christian leaders. He maintained that prophetic ministry should not be viewed as superior, but rather as distinct in purpose and responsibility.
According to him, those called into the prophetic office must possess endurance, resilience, and the ability to withstand significant spiritual challenges, as their assignment places them in more intense and visible arenas of spiritual engagement.
