Why I can’t marry man who doesn’t speak in tongues – Lady

A Nigerian lady identified as Amaka has stirred debate online after revealing that she cannot marry a man who doesn’t speak in tongues.

In a viral video, Amaka explained that men who do not speak in tongues or belong to any department in the church are often disloyal and lack spiritual grounding.

Men who don’t speak in tongues are disloyal

According to her, such men cannot be trusted to lead a godly home or remain faithful in marriage.

She argued that many failed marriages today are a result of people choosing partners who are not spiritually active, insisting that speaking in tongues is a sign of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual men are more loyal

Amaka emphasized that a man who prays in tongues and serves actively in church is more likely to be loyal, disciplined, and connected to God.

She said …

“A man who doesn’t speak in tongues, who doesn’t belong to any society or department in the church, he won’t be loyal. That man won’t be loyal. That man who speaks in tongues, who belongs to one department in the church, will be faithful and spirit-filled. That’s why there are a lot of failed marriages today in our societies, because why get married to a man who doesn’t speak in tongues, who doesn’t belong to any society in church? If you don’t speak in tongues, you can’t get married to me. That’s like a no-no.”

When questioned whether speaking in tongues should be a key criterion for marriage, she replied affirmatively, saying: “Personally, yes. I’m a Christian, and for you to marry me, that should be a criterion.”
