Why Greater Focus On Education For Vulnerable Children Is Key – Group

A non-government organization, ‘Help Is here Foundation’, has appealed to the government at all levels and policymakers in Nigeria to prioritize the education of the vulnerable children for them to have assess to free, quality education in order to encourage rapid development of the country.

The President/Leader of the Help Is Here Foundation, Adesola Odetayo made the appeal while presenting some gift items to some vulnerable children as part of its ‘Back To school’ initiative.

The foundation which has been lending helping hands to the less privilege in the society since 2019, said the organisation will continue to work with the like minds in the society to assist young girls and women with their children in the area of education, health and nutrition.

Odetayo said the Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid, education, and economic empowerment to women and their wards in the community, We strive to create sustainable solutions, foster community development, and promote social justice.

She said “a world where everyone has access to basic necessities, equal opportunities, and a chance to thrive.

Speaking on the objectives of the Foundation, Odetayo said its objectives are to “provide help for vulnerable girls and women with their children in the area of education, health and nutrition; to work for the uplifting the status of the women in the Society by fighting Against victimisation of members of the female gender, help generate program for self employment/ development of women and to associate the foundation with any other institution having wholly or in part similar to it by forging common front with members thereof for the furtherance of the foundation objectives.

She said its target beneficiaries are Orphans and vulnerable children, Women and girl child, Women with disabilities, Disaster-affected communities, Single mothers and Widow

Speaking on why the Foundation was formed, Odetayo said the vision came out of her experience while growing up, “I was deeply troubled by the struggles of a family I knew. They faced domestic violence and poverty, leaving them feeling helpless and alone. This experience had a profound impact on me, shaping my desire to help those in need. I established the Foundation in order to provide a lifeline of support and empowerment to women and Children, helping them overcome adversity and thrive.

Odetayo said its short-term goals includes; emergency Assistance such as provision of immediate aid, such as food, shelter, and clothing, to women and children in crisis situations; Counseling Services, and provision of essential items, such as toiletries, diapers, and formula, to families in need.

Our Mid-Term Goals include, Education and Training, Economic Empowerment and Community Outreach, while its long term covers, Support women in establishing sustainable livelihoods, such as small businesses or agricultural projects; Empower women to take on leadership roles in their communities, promoting positive change and advocacy and Advocate for policy changes and legislation that support women’s rights and empowerment, addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality.

She said, “Help Is Here Foundation it’s a platform that connects caring individuals and organizations with those in need. Our mission is to facilitate generosity and kindness, bringing people together to make a positive impact in our community.

We don’t have a large fund or resources to distribute. Instead, we’re a catalyst for giving, relying on the kindness and generosity of others to support our initiatives. Our goal is to provide a platform for people to give, volunteer, and make a difference.

Through our “Back to School” project, we’re connecting donors with students who need essential educational materials. We believe that every small act of kindness counts, and together, we can make a big difference.
