Why a Bank Wanted Our Offering Money Every Sunday — Pastor Paul Enenche

According to a recent video by Church Gist on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, has shared a striking account of how a bank once proposed to recover a church loan through weekly offerings.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Enenche recalled that over two decades ago, while the church was still under construction, it needed about ₦10 million for completion. According to him, a bank offered the loan but attached a condition that its representatives would attend every service, monitor, and collect offerings alongside church accountants to recover the debt.

He said the proposal was rejected, stressing that such an arrangement would shift the glory of the project from God to the bank. Enenche maintained that the church trusted God for provision, and eventually, the needed funds came without borrowing.

He further revealed that the same bank later sought partnership opportunities with the ministry, including promotional visibility during church programs. However, he declined, emphasizing that God remains the ultimate source of provision.

His Words: “ From the very first time our church was under construction, that small office at the back required 10 million for completion at that time. A bank came to us and said, “We can give you 10 million.” Back then, 10 million was a huge amount, considering it was over 20 years ago.

We asked, “Really? What are the conditions?” They said it was very simple: after every service, they would come to the church, count the offerings with our accounting staff, and take the money to the bank with them, gradually recovering the loan.

People began to ask, “Who are these people receiving money from the bank? What are they doing here?” We explained that they came to recover the money they had given us.”
