“When David Mark Was The Senate President For 2 Terms; It Was That Time The Boko Haram Started” —Jamo

Mohammed Jamo, a National Ex-Officio of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has leveled sharp criticism against former Senate President David Mark, questioning his historical contribution to the security and development of Northern Nigeria during his tenure in power.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Jamo dismissed the idea of certain political coalitions, suggesting that many leaders currently seeking relevance failed to act when they held unprecedented authority.

He specifically pointed to Mark’s record-breaking eight-year run as the head of the National Assembly.

“When David Mark was the Senate President consecutively for two terms, an opportunity that no Nigerian ever had,” Jamo remarked during the broadcast. “It was that time when even the Boko Haram started.”

The APC chieftain argued that the current instability plaguing the North did not appear in a vacuum, but rather escalated during periods when veteran politicians held the reigns of the legislature and previous ministerial roles. He challenged the impact of Mark’s leadership on the trajectory of the insurgency.

“What contribution as senate president did he give to save what is happening today in the northern Nigeria? Let’s look at it. He was minister,” Jamo added, urging Nigerians to “analyze” the past actions of those now discussing political alliances.
