“When 2 deputy devils jam each other” – Sowore reacts as Fayose insults Obasanjo

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has commented on the heated exchange between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, after a tense moment at Fayose’s recent birthday celebration.

Sowore, in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), described the clash as a meeting of “two deputy devils”, reacting to Fayose’s sharp remarks directed at Obasanjo following comments the former President made at the event.

Sowore Reacts to Fayose’s Harsh Words

In his post, Sowore wrote: “Obasanjo versus Fayose when two deputy devils jam each other.

“The way Fayose insulted Obasanjo telling him he ‘belongs to the zoo’ after Obasanjo made those unpleasant remarks at his birthday was something else entirely.”

His reaction followed a widely circulated message addressed to Obasanjo by Fayose, which the former governor described as a “thank you” note.

The message, sent by SMS, was released to journalists in Abeokuta by Obasanjo’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi.

Fayose’s Strongly Worded “Thank You” Message

Fayose’s message directly criticised Obasanjo’s conduct at the birthday event.

The text reads: “Dear Baba Obasanjo, I trust this meets you well.Your coming to my birthday party, I appreciate except for your very irresponsible comments at your age.

“You went so low but am not surprised because someone once said you are supposed be kept away in the zoo. Sincerely thats where you belong.

“I kept quiet or did not reply you at the function so that the world will know the difference between a sane and a mad man that you are.

“It is also obvious that you have also lost your sanity OR should I say is the heightened stage of dementia. Not to worry Baba., I shall set the records straight in due course of time.

“Lastly I shall appreciate if you return my money since you publicly admitted you received but Dangote brought u back. Your leopard will never change his skin”.

Obasanjo Responds Calmly

Obasanjo offered a short but firm reply, acknowledging the message and returning the money Fayose referred to.

He wrote: “Ayo, thanks for your ‘Thank You’ message which undisguisedly revealed who and what you are, unchanged and unchangeable.

“Your money has been sent back through Foluso Adeagbo who brought it and in the same bag as he brought it unopened by me”.Obj.”

The public exchange has sparked widespread discussion, with many Nigerians reacting to the sharp words exchanged between the two political figures.
