A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after addressing people who constantly criticise the popular Hallelujah Challenge led by gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey.
In a passionate TikTok video, she posed four thought-provoking questions to those who mock the midnight praise and prayer session.
What Is the Hallelujah Challenge?
The Hallelujah Challenge is an online Christian praise and worship program hosted by Nathaniel Bassey. It is usually held at midnight, attracting thousands of believers who join virtually to pray, worship, and share testimonies.
Over the years, the program has become a spiritual movement, but it has also faced its fair share of criticism from skeptics who question its impact.
Her Bold Message to the Critics
In a video shared via her TikTok handle @tobinaomi, the lady condemned those who ridicule participants of the challenge.
She questioned the logic behind criticizing people who choose to turn to God in difficult times.
In her words:
“Not only are you seeing it or choosing to join or see what’s happening, you’re then taking it one step further and beating down on people that are choosing to look to God to solve their problems. What good does that do for y’all?”
She went on to add:
“Worst case scenario, what they’re doing does not do anything. Worst case scenario, praising God does not benefit anything. Is it bad? I need you guys to answer. Send this to whoever you know in your life is a hater on Hallelujah Challenge or whoever else is just trying to do something for God.
“What bad can someone accomplish from praising God? Do you think you furthered the kingdom of heaven by spewing hate on the internet on something that a man of God is doing to give people hope and to bring glory to God’s name and help us focus on him so that he becomes magnified over the problems of our lives?”
Mixed Reactions Trail Her Video
The video quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.

@tobinaomi a holy rant and a heartfelt prayer. (see Matthew 12:25: “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.’”)
