A Nigerian lady, Chinyere Geraldine, has shared a heartbreaking story of how her friend, Deborah Opah, died just hours after they spoke on the phone.
The story, accompanied by a screenshot of their last WhatsApp conversation, has left social media users shocked and emotional.
A Conversation That Feels Like Yesterday
Chinyere recounted that she spoke with Deborah on the afternoon of October 6, 2025, around 3:40 pm.
During the conversation, they discussed plans for work and other everyday matters.
Chinyere also told Deborah about her shop’s anniversary sales and mentioned needing another sales assistant, to which Deborah promised to help through her younger sister.
Tragic Death Hours Later
Tragically, Deborah died the same evening in a road accident at the MSP bus stop in Enugu.
According to Chinyere, Deborah was first hit by a minibus and then run over by another car.
The sudden loss left Chinyere devastated, prompting her to rush to the Ogui police station the next day, hoping to find her friend alive but sadly, there was nothing she could do.
Sharing Their Final Chat
Chinyere posted the screenshot of their last WhatsApp chat online, capturing the final words exchanged between her and Deborah.
She described the death as “scary, mysterious, and painful.”
In her words:
“Two cars hit you. Your death is scary. Your death is mysterious. Your death is painful. What a tragedy. On October 4th, you came to my shop, sis. We discussed, and I told you about my anniversary sales, that I needed another sales girl. You promised me that your younger sister would join me.
“On October 6th, we talked on the phone around 3:40 pm. On the same day, October 6th, in the evening, you met your death on your way home at the MSP bus stop in Enugu.
“A minibus hit you, and another car ran over you. On October 7th, I heard the news and rushed to Ogui police station, hoping to find you alive, but there was no way. Rest in power, Debby.”
The post quickly gained attention online, with many expressing shock and offering condolences.
