“We can’t afford university” – Brilliant student with 9As in WAEC stuck at home

A brilliant Nigerian student, Adeshina Shalom Ololade, has drawn national attention after achieving an outstanding academic record but faces financial struggles in continuing his education.

Despite scoring 9As in his WAEC exams and 7As with 2Bs in NECO, Shalom’s parents are unable to fund his admission into a higher institution.

Struggling to Access Higher Education

Shalom’s story was shared by @Iamowolewa on Twitter, who claims to have the authority of Shalom’s parents.

According to the post, Shalom is about to start his university admission process but lacks the necessary funds to continue his education.

The tweet has since gone viral, generating widespread support from Nigerians who admire Shalom’s achievements and are offering assistance.

@Iamowolewa explained that Shalom’s parents are mainly seeking sponsorship opportunities to ensure their son’s brilliance is not wasted due to poverty.

Netizens Steps In to Support

In the tweet, it was revealed that Shalom previously completed his secondary education with the help of a friend’s parents.

At one point, his father reportedly considered withdrawing him from school due to financial strain, but timely intervention prevented this.

... also included a letter from Shalom’s secondary school confirming his academic excellence and stating that the school had waived the debt owed by his parents.

Many Nigerians have responded positively, offering support and tagging organizations that could provide scholarships or grants.
