A Nigerian lady has drawn attention online after sharing a video in which she caught her neighbour using her cooking gas to cook beans instead of the noodles she had promised.
The incident, captured in a TikTok video by user @trendsbyscarlet1, comes amid cooking gas scarcity and price increases, which have made gas a precious commodity and led to long queues at gas stations.
Neighbour Breaks Trust
According to the lady, she had lent her neighbour the gas specifically to cook noodles.
To her shock, she later discovered the neighbour cooking beans—a meal that consumes more gas and takes longer to prepare.
In the video, she recorded a pot of beans simmering on her gas cylinder.
The lady lamented that despite her clear warnings not to use the gas for beans, the neighbour ignored her instructions.
She expressed frustration, saying the act was not only dishonest but also insensitive given the current shortage and cost of cooking gas.
She added that the neighbour even added eggs to the beans, further aggravating the situation.
“I warned my neighbor not to use my gas to cook beans. The fact that gas is even scarce and expensive currently, she still had the guts to add 2 eggs,” the lady lamented in the clip.
