A Nigerian man who claimed to have witnessed the heated clash between social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) and comedian Mr Jollof has shared what really happened that triggered the viral fight mid-boarding.
Fight Reportedly Started Before Takeoff
The eyewitness, identified on TikTok as @ezikepaultobechukwu, said the confrontation happened while passengers were still settling into their seats on a United Nigeria Airlines flight.
According to him, both VDM and Mr. Jollof boarded around the same time and sat opposite each other, though not on the same row.

He claimed the tension began as passengers arranged their hand luggage in the overhead compartments.
VeryDarkMan allegedly looked at Mr Jollof and said, “I go slap you.” Those nearby initially thought it was a joke.
The eyewitness said things escalated quickly when Mr Jollof reportedly threw the first punch, prompting VDM to react in kind.
In his words:
“This is exactly what happened at United Nigeria this morning. I’m an eyewitness. I saw it happen myself. That’s my boarding pass, that’s my seat number. So two of them were close to each other but not on the same row. Jollof was on left, VDM was on right. So when they were putting their luggage in the overhead locker up there, na VDM first talk to Jollof tell am say ‘I go slap you’. People around thought it was a joke. Then, Mr Jollof then started throwing punch, VDM threw back and the fight started.”
He added that fellow comedian Funny Bone tried to intervene and calm the situation but struggled to separate them.
“Even Funny Bone the comedian was trying to separate them. So what do I say in this? Of course the airport authority brought them down. We no travel with them. Them dey Asaba there they settle themselves. VDM was wrong. Mr Jollof was wrong because I know their story. Currently, they have a case in court… VDM and Jollof are not friends and satan made them enter the same airline today,” the eyewitness shared.
The TikTok video has since garnered massive reactions online, with social media users sharing their opinions about the dramatic incident on the flight.
