According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, an estimated $2 billion worth of military equipment has been lost by the United States in the first four days of its military operations against Iran, according to estimates derived from open-source intelligence and official confirmations.
The loss of the American AN/FPS-132 early warning radar system stationed at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base was the most consequential event. Iranian missiles hit the radar on Saturday, damaging it and destroying assets worth over $1.1 billion.
Officials in Qatar have acknowledged that the facility was damaged in the attack. Adding insult to injury, three US F-15E Strike A friendly fire event involving Kuwaiti air defence systems brought down Eagle fighter planes. The plane went down in flames, but the six people on board made it out alive.
The three planes will set you back about $282 million to replace. On Saturday, Iran also hit the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama, Bahrain, with its opening volley.
Two satellite communications terminals were allegedly destroyed and numerous large buildings within the site were severely damaged in the attack.
Deployment and installation costs for each of the destroyed satellite terminals—which were identified through open-source analysis as AN/GSC-52B systems—are expected to be over $20 million.
Iran said it attacked the THAAD anti-ballistic missile defence system’s AN/TPY-2 radar component in Al-Ruwais Industrial City in the UAE. The radar was hit, according to satellite imagery examined by open-source experts. About $500 million is the worth of the AN/TPY-2 part.
The entire estimated damage and destruction to US military assets in the region amounts to around $1.902 billion. In addition to the monetary cost, since Saturday when the US and Israel attacked Iran, Iran has targeted seven US military locations in the Middle East.
Camp Buehring, Kuwait’s Fifth Fleet headquarters; Iraq’s Erbil Base; the United Arab Emirates’ Jebel Ali Port; Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base; and Kuwait’s Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base are among the impacted sites.
Rooftops of Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait crumbled in Sunday’s photographs, which came after claims of an Iranian strike.
The main location where six US service members were murdered was determined to be Camp Arifjan. Video footage from Camp Buehring went viral online, seemingly showing a drone crashing into the installation’s boundary.
The US military post at Erbil International Airport in Iraq was the target of multiple strikes in Iraq. Over the weekend, fires were seen rising from the region, and satellite photographs revealed that at least four buildings had been damaged or destroyed.
As of Monday, the fires were still going strong. Also seen in Sunday’s satellite images was smoke billowing from a sizable structure inside the enclosed US Navy leisure area at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port.
Jebel Ali is still one of the most used ports in the Middle East by the Navy, even though it is not an official US facility. Not only did they target military installations, but they also hit multiple US diplomatic missions.
According to Saudi officials, two drones struck the US Embassy in Riyadh, causing minimal material damage. The US Embassy in Kuwait City was closed and non-essential staff and their families were evacuated after what local officials said was a serious drone and missile strike.
At the same time, a fire broke out in a parking lot next to the main building of the US Consulate General in Dubai, which was allegedly caused by a drone. Fortunately, the fire was put out before it could cause any significant damage to the buildings.See_More…
