Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has shared an update on the detention of the viral Ibom Air Flight female passenger, Comfort Emmanson.
Notably, Comfort Emmanson has been in the headlines following a viral video showing her assaulting crew members and security personnel.
According to a statement released by the minister on August 13, 2025, on X (formely Twitter), he has consulted with Ibom Airline to withdraw the complaint against Comfort Emmanson
Keyamo stated that his decision to withdraw the complaint to Emmanson’s display of remorse and appeals from concerned individuals.
Furthermore, Keyamo has conferred with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) leadership, appealing for the lifting of the lifetime flying ban imposed on Emmanson.
Regarding K1 De Ultimate (KWAM), Keyamo announced that he has directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to reduce the flight ban to one month and withdraw the criminal complaints against the singer.
Furthermore, the licenses of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba, suspended due to the incident, will be restored after the one-month ban.
