A delegation from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Uchenna Ortuanya, is on a working visit to Asia, a mission focused on expanding the university’s international visibility and strengthening its global academic footprint.
The VC who disclosed this to our correspondent on Thursday in a chat, said major highlight of this global engagement is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNN and the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Africa and Asia Division) for the establishment of the Taiwan Centre for Academic Exchanges at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
Ortuanya explained that, the strategic collaboration is expected to yield significant benefits by strengthening academic cooperation in areas such as Information Technology and research.
“This will internationalise opportunities in student and faculty exchange programs between Taiwan and UNN.
“Expand access to scholarships, Mandarin language courses, and cultural immersion initiatives.
” Enhanced academic excellence through joint research and the integration of Taiwanese pedagogical innovations,”he said.
The VC said that, this international strategic partnership would ensure that the Lion in UNN roars again by reviving the university’s legacy of excellence with renewed global relevance and intellectual visibility
