The Stephen Oluwole Awokoya Foundation for Science Education has invited the University of Ilorin to nominate candidates for its 2026 Postgraduate Scholarship Award in Science-related fields, which is scheduled to commence in January 2026.
This was disclosed in a memo signed by the Dean of Postgraduate School, Prof. Nwosu, and made available to UNILORIN Bulletin on Friday, October 17, 2025.
According to the memo, the Board of Trustees of the Awokoya Foundation requested the University to forward the names of its best graduating students in Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences, Science Education, and Veterinary Medicine who intend to pursue postgraduate studies in their respective disciplines.
The memo further emphasized that nominees must be the most recent graduates and must not have graduated before 2025 or be currently serving as Graduate Teaching Assistants, as such individuals are not eligible for the scholarship.
Each nominee, the memo noted, must have a strong reputation for hard work and good conduct. Their University Transcript and a letter of recommendation from the Dean of the relevant faculty are to be forwarded to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Nominees are also required to complete an application form, which should be sent directly to the Foundation along with a personal write-up. The forms can be accessed via the Foundation’s official websites:
