Unilever Nigeria Plc has declared an interim dividend of N2 per ordinary share for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, following a 20.1% increase in profit after tax to N26.40 billion.
The consumer goods company disclosed the dividend in a corporate action announcement dated October 23, 2026, after reporting improved revenue and profitability during the period.
According to the announcement, shareholders whose names appear in the company’s register at the close of business on Friday, October 30, 2026, will qualify for the dividend, subject to applicable withholding tax.
The register of shareholders will be closed from Monday, November 2, to Friday, November 6, 2026, while payment is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
Eligible shareholders who have completed their e-dividend registration will receive payments directly into their designated bank accounts.
The dividend announcement follows Unilever Nigeria’s nine-month financial results, which showed that profit after tax increased to N26.40 billion from N21.98 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
Revenue rose by 18.4% to N184.01 billion from N155.41 billion, while gross profit increased by 33.6% to N85.46 billion from N63.97 billion.
The improvement was supported by stronger sales and a slower increase in the cost of sales, which rose by 7.8% to N98.54 billion from N91.45 billion.
Consequently, the company’s gross profit margin improved to 46.4% from 41.2% in the previous year.
Operating profit increased by 26.5% to N38.54 billion from N30.46 billion, despite higher marketing, administrative and distribution expenses.
Marketing and administrative expenses rose to N40.30 billion from N29.51 billion, while selling and distribution expenses increased to N7.31 billion from N5.07 billion.
Profit before tax climbed to N45.58 billion from N37.41 billion, representing an increase of 21.8%.
However, taxation increased to N19.17 billion from N15.43 billion, moderating the growth in profit after tax.
Basic and diluted earnings per share improved to N4.60 from N3.83, reflecting the company’s stronger earnings performance.
The N2 interim dividend represents approximately 43.5% of the N4.60 earnings per share recorded during the nine-month period.
Unilever Nigeria advised shareholders who have not completed their e-dividend registration to obtain the relevant mandate form from Greenwich Registrars and Data Solutions Limited and submit it through the registrar or their respective banks.
The company also urged shareholders with unclaimed dividend warrants or outstanding share certificates to contact the registrar to regularise their records ahead of the payment date.
