A Nigerian lady has sparked intense conversations on social media after sharing a shocking marriage story involving her UK-based brother, a tale that has left many Nigerians stunned.
In a viral TikTok video shared by a user identified as @sommica, the lady revealed that her brother met his wife on Instagram while he was living abroad.
According to her, they chatted for about six months before he returned to Nigeria, when they finally met in person, things moved very fast within one month, he proposed and married her.
She reportedly explained that she had the child at a young age, and the man accepted both her and the child without hesitation.
After the wedding, the couple planned to return to the UK together.
However, due to delays in her travel documents, the woman stayed back in Owerri while her husband travelled ahead to finalise arrangements.
While he was abroad, she later told him she wanted to relocate to Abuja for a change of environment.
Despite still schooling in Owerri, the man agreed, continued sending her money, fully supported her child, and even opened a shop for her.
Trouble reportedly began when she invited her secondary school ex-boyfriend to Abuja. The man, said to be a known errand runner in Owerri, was allegedly being flown in and out, spoiled with gifts, and financially supported.
The secret came out when the ex-boyfriend openly bragged during a gathering, claiming his ex-girlfriend was funding his lifestyle, while showing photos and videos as proof.
When confronted on phone, the woman allegedly admitted everything.
Her husband reportedly told her to pack out before his return. Instead, she allegedly sold off household items and disappeared with the ex-boyfriend.
Social media users have reacted heavily, with many calling the story a painful lesson about trust, haste, and love without caution.
