UAC of Nigeria Proposes ₦1.00 Dividend, Sets June 26 Payment Date

UAC of Nigeria Plc has proposed a final dividend of ₦1.00 per ordinary share of 50 kobo for the financial year ended December 31, 2025, subject to shareholder approval at its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The company disclosed that shareholders whose names appear on the register as of June 11, 2026, will qualify for the dividend payment. The register of members is scheduled to close from June 12 to June 18, 2026.

According to the notice, the dividend will be paid electronically on June 26, 2026, to shareholders who have completed their e-dividend registration and mandated the registrar to credit their bank accounts directly.

UAC of Nigeria advised shareholders who are yet to enroll in the e-dividend system to complete the process through Africa Prudential Plc, the company’s registrar, to ensure seamless payment.

The company also urged shareholders with unclaimed dividend warrants or outstanding share certificates to regularise their holdings by completing the e-dividend registration or contacting the registrar for resolution.

The Annual General Meeting has been scheduled to hold on June 25, 2026, at Festival Hotel, Diamond Estate, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, where shareholders will consider and approve the proposed dividend, among other resolutions.

The proposed dividend represents a significant increase from the ₦0.22 (22 kobo) paid in the previous year, indicating a stronger shareholder return strategy despite the company’s recent earnings pressure.

Market analysts note that the higher dividend proposal signals management’s confidence in cash flow stability and future performance, even as the company navigates rising finance costs and evolving market conditions.

The announcement reinforces UAC of Nigeria’s commitment to delivering value to shareholders through consistent returns while maintaining regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards.
