TV Presenter passes away in plane crash hours after posting photo of herself online

A 43-year-old TV presenter Debora Estrella, has passed away in a plane crash, just hours after sharing her excitement online about taking a flying lesson.

The tragedy reportedly occurred on Saturday, September 20, in Garcia, Nuevo León.

Both Debora and her flight instructor, Bryan Ballesteros, died when their small aircraft, a two-seater Cessna, plummeted near the Pesquería River.

Her employer, Mexican channel Multimedia, confirmed the heartbreaking news on social media, writing:

“At MULTIMEDIA we are shocked and deeply sorry for the loss of our colleague. Debora Estrella, 43 years old, was running the Morning Telediario in Monterrey since 2018, and also contributed to Milenio Television and the Mexico City Telediario on Channel 6 during weekends. She di3d this Saturday, September 20 in a plane crash registered in the municipality of Garcia, Nuevo León. We express our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. Rest in peace, mate.”

Final Moments and Tributes

Debora had recently begun learning to fly and had excitedly shared a photo of her and the Cessna online, captioning it: “Guess what.”

Rescue teams, including Civil Protection Unit 04, responded promptly, but were unable to save her and her instructor.

“The rapid response of Civil Protection Unit 04 and other rescue teams failed to prevent the death toll of two people,” the statement added.

The accomplished TV personality had a vibrant career at MMTV, frequently sharing images of her work on social media.

Her last studio photograph, posted shortly before the crash, showed her smiling in a black outfit with the caption, “Buenos dias.”

Fans and colleagues have since paid tribute to the late star, expressing shock and mourning her untimely death.
