The Senator representing Kwara Central, Sen. Saliu Mustapha, Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, will lead top lawmakers and dignitaries to the 1st Anniversary Lecture and Award Ceremony of 98.5 Emirate FM, Ilorin, slated for Thursday, December 17, 2026.
Mustapha will be honoured with the Distinguished Lawmakers Award in recognition of his impactful representation and commitment to good governance.
The anniversary, which celebrates one year of excellent broadcasting as The Voice of the Emirate, is themed “One Year of Emirate Radio: Amplifying Our Heritage, Defending Our Values, Uniting Our People,” and will hold at the Banquet Hall, opposite Government House, Ilorin, by 10:00 a.m.
The ceremony will feature free health check, public lecture, fundraising and awards presentation.
Host Governor and Chief Host is the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Distinguished Guest of Honour is the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Royal Guest is the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos and Chairman, Council of Fulani Chiefs, Lagos State, Alhaji (Dr.) Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II.
Other honourees include Engr. AbdulKadir Tunji Nagode, Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, Alhaji (Dr.) Tajudeen Ibrahim Ajibola Eleku, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abubakar Toyin, Abubakar Bature Sulu-Gambari, Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali, Engr. Yusuf Olanrewaju Sagaya, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, Malam Yushau A. Shuaib, Chief Mrs. Kemi Fajana, Engr. Emmanuel Olufemi Abidoye, Pastor Odekunle Epaphras and Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulqadir Tidibodo.
The Royal Father of the Day is Malam Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba IV, Mai-Tangale.
The management of Emirate 98.5 FM said the awards are in recognition of distinguished service to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria at large.
