Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had condemned the efforts of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to drag the entire region into war, describing the Iranian regime as destroying lives, and expressed solidarity with all those who defend life and seek to compel Tehran to abandon its long-standing violence.
According to a post made by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a post made Via his official X account, revealed that during his phone call conversation with with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani described the Iranian regime as destroying lives, and expressed solidarity with all those who defend life and seek to compel Tehran to abandon its long-standing violence, positioning Ukraine as a moral voice in the escalating Middle East conflict while deepening ties with a key Gulf state.
He also said “The Iranian regime is trying to drag the entire region into war and is destroying lives. This can only be condemned.”
The Ukrainian leader expressed solidarity with those under attack, saying “We stand in solidarity with all those who defend life and seek to compel the Iranian regime to abandon its long-standing violence as soon as possible, further framing the conflict in humanitarian terms, emphasizing the civilian cost of Iran’s actions.
He also said “We exchanged assessments of the prospects and agreed that our teams will remain in contact to determine how we can jointly provide greater protection to people,” suggesting practical measures, possibly including intelligence sharing, defense coordination, or humanitarian assistance.
In another related development, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in a post made Via his official X account, described the strikes as harming civilians and risking further destabilization, while thanking Jordan for its consistent support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, at the same time reinforcing Ukraine’s growing diplomatic engagement with Middle Eastern nations caught in the crossfire of the Iran-Israel-US conflict.
