Truecaller has surpassed 500 million users worldwide, a major milestone in its expansion as a global platform for safe and trusted communication.
The company said the latest figure reflects sustained user growth driven by increasing demand for protection against spam, scams and unwanted communication.
In 2025 alone, Truecaller added more than 50 million users, while its user base outside India exceeded 150 million, highlighting continued international expansion.
The platform also crossed 4 million paying subscribers earlier in the year, reinforcing its subscription model as a key revenue stream amid rising adoption of premium features.
Commenting on the milestone, Chief Executive Officer Rishit Jhunjhunwala said the growth reflects a broader global need for trusted communication tools in an increasingly digital environment.
He stated that more individuals now rely on solutions that help them navigate spam calls, fraudulent messages and unknown contacts, adding that the company remains focused on strengthening its technology to deliver enhanced protection before, during and after every communication interaction.
Jhunjhunwala noted that the company is now targeting its next major milestone of reaching 1 billion users, as it continues to scale its global footprint.
Truecaller has evolved beyond its core caller identification service into a broader digital utility platform embedded in everyday communication.
The company said its technology now supports identity verification, fraud prevention and safer messaging, positioning it as a critical trust layer within the mobile ecosystem.
With more than half a billion monthly users, the platform plays an active role in helping individuals make informed decisions about incoming calls and messages, particularly in regions experiencing rising levels of digital fraud.
Despite its scale, Truecaller maintains a relatively lean operational structure with approximately 470 employees managing its global operations and product development.
The company added that it will continue to provide updates on its monthly and daily active user base as part of its quarterly financial disclosures.
The milestone underscores the growing importance of trust and security in digital communication, as users increasingly seek reliable tools to protect themselves from evolving cyber threats and communication risks.
