Troops of the Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted N37 million suspected terrorist funds and disrupted insurgent logistics routes in the North East.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Media Information Officer, Sani Uba.
He said the operation followed recent defensive actions in Pulka and Madara-Girau, after which troops transitioned into logistics strangulation operations targeting insurgent supply networks.
According to him, troops of Sector 1, supported by vigilantes, conducted a night ambush on February 16 along a crossing route used by ISWAP fighters from the Cameroon axis.
The insurgents fled after coming under fire while troops recovered logistics materials believed to be meant for resupply.
The army said troops remained in control of the area and were consolidating gains.
In another operation at Forward Operating Base Chabbal checkpoint, soldiers intercepted a vehicle carrying five occupants and recovered about N37 million hidden in bags with several phones.
The military described the seizure as a breakthrough in efforts to dismantle terrorist financing channels.
“These coordinated actions demonstrate that OPHK is proactively tightening the noose on terrorist supply lines,” the statement added.
The command assured residents that operations would continue until peace is restored in the region.
