‎Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have neutralized nine Boko Haram terrorists and recovered about ₦5 million ransom during coordinated fighting patrols around Magumeri and Gajiram general areas of Borno State.

‎A statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, said the operations were conducted following credible intelligence on terrorist movements around Goni Dunari in Magumeri Local Government Area on 10 October 2025.

‎The terrorists, who were reportedly moving in two vehicles and on foot, had set houses ablaze and were terrorizing locals before troops engaged them.

‎After a four-hour tactical pursuit covering over 90 kilometres, troops made contact and engaged the terrorists in a firefight, neutralizing five, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

‎Items recovered included an AK-47 rifle, magazines, 31 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a mobile phone, and a dagger. No casualties were recorded on the part of the troops.

‎In a related encounter along the Gajiram–Bolori–Mile 40–Gajiganna axis, troops on motorcycles engaged insurgents near Zundur village, killing four and rescuing two abducted civilians — Modu Kinnami (55) and Bukar (57) — both from Guzamala.

‎Recovered items included a blue pickup vehicle, two new Tecno phones, ₦4,355,000 cash, and 30 litres of PMS.

‎Uba said further operations were ongoing to deny the terrorists freedom of action in the area.
