Troops Neutralise 6 Terrorists, Rescue Kidnapped Minor in Zamfara Operation

‎Troops of 8 Division Garrison Strike Force operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2 have neutralised six terrorists and rescued a kidnapped underage girl during an offensive in Zamfara State.

‎The Media Information Officer of the operation, Captain David Adewusi said, “The troops recorded significant breakthroughs during operations within the Sububu Forests of Maradun Local Government Area.”

‎He stated, “The offensive was aimed at dismantling terrorist enclaves and restoring peace to the state.”

‎According to Adewuasi, “The operation began with a targeted engagement at Indulumu village, where two terrorists were neutralised.”

‎He disclosed, “An AK-47 rifle was recovered after the firefight, weakening the terrorists’ operational capacity.”

‎He added, “Troops advanced to Ruduno village, where four additional terrorists were neutralised after fierce resistance.”

‎He said, “Another AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine containing 28 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and two motorcycles were recovered and destroyed.”

‎Adewusi noted, “The motorcycles were used for movement and logistics by the terrorists.”

‎He further revealed, “A kidnapped underage victim, Halira Ibrahim, was rescued as troops advanced deeper into the forest.”

‎According to him, “The rescue brought relief to the victim and renewed hope within the affected community.”

‎He stated, “This demonstrates the commitment of the troops to protecting vulnerable citizens.”

‎Adewusi disclosed, “Several terrorist camps and life-support structures in Magaji, Galakaje, Filinga and Kukatara were destroyed.”

‎He explained, “These actions have disrupted the terrorists’ ability to regroup and sustain their operations.”

‎He assured, “The military will continue to deny criminal elements safe havens across Zamfara State.”

‎The spokesman concluded, “Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to eliminating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in the region.”
