The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) has recorded sweeping operational victories across all theatres of operation, killing scores of terrorists, arresting logistics suppliers and collaborators, rescuing kidnapped victims, and recovering huge caches of arms and stolen crude oil worth over N173 million.
This was disclosed in the weekly operational update for the week ending November 28, 2025, signed by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja.
Maj.-Gen. Onoja said the decisive gains reflect the military’s intensified offensive posture against terrorism, banditry, oil theft and other forms of criminality threatening national security.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria have sustained a high operational tempo across all theatres, leading to the neutralisation of several terrorists, the rescue of victims, and the recovery of significant weapons and illicit proceeds. Our troops remain resolute in dismantling all threats to national security,” Onoja stated.
Onoja said under Operation HADIN KAI, troops killed scores of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in coordinated ground and air offensives across several LGAs of Borno and Adamawa States.
“Between 17 and 26 November 2025, our troops conducted aggressive operations in Damboa, Bama, Chibok, Gwoza and other locations, leading to the killing of many terrorists, arrest of 11 collaborators and rescue of eight kidnapped commuters,” he said.
He added that air strikes on terrorist enclaves in the Sambisa axis destroyed arms storage facilities and killed several insurgents.
Under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Onoja said troops killed many terrorists during firefights across Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Niger States.
“Our troops also apprehended 15 terrorists, rescued 13 kidnapped victims and recovered weapons, vehicles and large numbers of rustled livestock,” he said.
A major breakthrough, according to him, was the arrest of a suspected arms dealer in Zamfara with N4 million meant for arms procurement.
In the Operation ENDURING PEACE theatre, Onoja confirmed the arrest of a notorious extremist, Umar Idi (aka LERE), alongside nine others.
“Ten kidnapped victims were rescued, while arms, motorcycles and vehicles were recovered. We also intercepted over N7 million meant as inducement in a rail vandalism case,” he disclosed.
Onoja revealed that under Operation DELTA SAFE, troops thwarted oil theft valued at N173,757,440, destroyed 11 illegal refineries and arrested 13 suspects.
“This sustained pressure is crippling the economic lifeline of criminal networks in the Niger Delta,” he said.
He also confirmed arrests and rescues under Operation UDO KA, along with the destruction of terrorist camps through air interdiction in Enugu State.
“Our air component engaged terrorist hideouts in Ezeagu with rockets and cannons, neutralising several terrorists and destroying their logistics,” Onoja said.
He commended troops for their gallantry and urged citizens to continue to support security agencies with intelligence.
