In a significant achievement for Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), the Joint Task Force North East has made strides in counter-terrorism efforts in Borno State.
On November 9, 2025, the 135 Special Forces Battalion, part of Sector 2 OPHK, confronted Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents at Dutse Kura after uncovering their abduction of civilians and vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.
The troops successfully interrupted the attack, pursuing the terrorists towards Mangari and overpowering them near their camp, prompting the insurgents to flee. A subsequent search of the area revealed 11 makeshift structures used by the terrorists and led to the rescue of 86 kidnapped individuals, including men, women, and children.
The operation yielded significant recoveries, including one AK-47 rifle, five magazines containing 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles. The terrorists’ camp was destroyed during the clearance operation.
Additionally, troops in Mangada apprehended 29 individuals supplying logistics to the terrorists as they traveled towards Chilaria. Recovered items included two pickup vans and a tricycle filled with approximately 1,000 liters of petrol in jerricans, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tires, a large amount of medical supplies, and substantial food provisions.
All operations were executed without any casualties among the troops. The Military High Command praised the bravery and professionalism of the soldiers, urging Operation HADIN KAI to continue its efforts to restrict terrorist activities in the North East.
