Troops Foil Bandits’ Attack, Neutralise Terrorist in Kaduna‎‎‎

‎Troops of Sector 1, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully foiled a bandit attack in Maraban Rido area of Kaduna State.

‎The operation was carried out by personnel of 1 Division following credible intelligence on the movement of armed criminals in the area.

‎The troops were said to have responded to a distress call received late on January 22, 2026, indicating that bandits had rustled livestock in Anguwan Fulan village.

‎Acting swiftly on the information, soldiers deployed to the affected community to conduct a snap ambush operation.

‎On arrival, the troops made contact with the fleeing criminals and engaged them with superior firepower.

‎The intense engagement forced the bandits to withdraw in disarray, with several sustaining gunshot wounds.

‎Following the encounter, the troops carried out aggressive exploitation of nearby forested areas, including Kankomi Forest.

‎Another contact was made near Anguwan Sarki, where one suspected violent extremist was neutralised.

‎The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against criminal elements in Kaduna State and the wider North-West region.
