‎Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded major operational successes in Adamawa State, dismantling a suicide bombing network and intercepting suspected terrorists’ logistics during intensified security operations.

‎According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operations were part of ongoing cordon-and-search efforts targeting perpetrators and facilitators of the Gamboru Market Mosque suicide bombing.

‎Lt. Col. Uba said that following sustained surveillance, troops conducted a coordinated cordon-and-search operation in the Yan Lemo area of Mubi South Local Government Area in the early hours of January 5, 2026, leading to the arrest of eight suspects.

‎He disclosed that among those apprehended were two principal suspects believed to be key facilitators within the suicide bombing network, noting that a search of their residence led to the recovery of cash, mobile phones, identification documents, ATM cards, jewellery and other personal effects.

‎The Army spokesperson added that forensic analysis is ongoing, while a suspect already in custody identified the two principal suspects as suppliers of materials used in preparing the Improvised Explosive Device.

‎In a related development, Lt. Col. Uba said OPHK troops intercepted 45 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit, estimated at 1,125 litres, in Mayo Nguli, Maiha Local Government Area, on January 4, 2026, suspected to be terrorists’ logistics.

‎He stressed that the operations underscored OPHK’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt supply chains and prevent future attacks, while urging the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies.
