Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested 18 individuals suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East.
The Nigerian Army said the suspects were intercepted along the Gubio–Gudumbali route while allegedly transporting supplies to terrorist elements.
The Army said preliminary investigations revealed that economic challenges contributed to the suspects’ involvement in the illicit activities.
It warned that any form of collaboration with terrorist groups, including provision of logistics or intelligence, constitutes a serious offence.
The Army called on communities to support ongoing operations by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities to security agencies.
It also stressed the importance of sustained socio-economic interventions to reduce vulnerability and discourage involvement in criminal networks.
