Troops arrest 18 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers, warn civilians

‎By Chimezie Godfrey

‎Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested 18 individuals suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East.

‎The Nigerian Army said the suspects were intercepted along the Gubio–Gudumbali route while allegedly transporting supplies to terrorist elements.

‎The Army said preliminary investigations revealed that economic challenges contributed to the suspects’ involvement in the illicit activities.

‎It warned that any form of collaboration with terrorist groups, including provision of logistics or intelligence, constitutes a serious offence.

‎The Army called on communities to support ongoing operations by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities to security agencies.

‎It also stressed the importance of sustained socio-economic interventions to reduce vulnerability and discourage involvement in criminal networks.
