Transcorp Reports ₦91.41 Billion Profit in Nine Months, Q3 Earnings Up 56%

Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp) posted a ₦91.41 billion profit after tax for the nine months ended September 30, 2025.

The figure represents a solid improvement from ₦75.91 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2024. For the third quarter, profit rose 56 percent to ₦26.24 billion, from ₦16.87 billion a year earlier.

Revenue for the nine months grew 39 percent to ₦413.43 billion, up from ₦297.66 billion in 2024. Third-quarter revenue stood at ₦133.76 billion, compared with ₦86.87 billion in the corresponding period of 2024.

Gross profit increased to ₦196.60 billion from ₦132.85 billion in 2024, supported by higher power generation output and improved hospitality occupancy levels. Cost of sales rose to ₦216.84 billion from ₦164.81 billion a year earlier.

Operating profit stood at ₦137.71 billion, compared with ₦113.74 billion in the same period of 2024. Administrative expenses increased to ₦52.52 billion from ₦32.11 billion, due to inflationary effects and expansion costs.

Finance costs (net) amounted to ₦14.84 billion, compared with ₦11.76 billion a year earlier, while the Group recorded a foreign exchange gain of ₦1.65 billion on financing activities.

Profit before tax rose to ₦124.52 billion from ₦105.49 billion in 2024. After a tax expense of ₦33.11 billion, profit after tax closed at ₦91.41 billion.

Profit attributable to shareholders was ₦54.29 billion, compared to ₦44.87 billion in 2024, while non-controlling interests accounted for ₦37.12 billion. Basic earnings per share increased to 534 kobo from 110 kobo a year earlier.

Total comprehensive income for the period was ₦99.73 billion, compared with ₦77.19 billion in 2024, driven by fair value gains on equity instruments held through other comprehensive income (OCI).

For the third quarter, revenue rose 54 percent to ₦133.76 billion, while profit before tax advanced to ₦38.82 billion, up from ₦25.23 billion last year. Profit attributable to shareholders was ₦12.85 billion, compared with ₦8.12 billion in the same period of 2024.

Transcorp continues to deliver consistent earnings growth across its subsidiaries, including Transcorp Power Limited, Transafam Power Limited, and Transcorp Hotels Plc, driven by operational efficiency and expansion in Nigeria’s power and hospitality sectors.
