Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, describing them as the driving force behind the growing number of Nigerians joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking after the APC Governors’ Forum meeting in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, Otu noted that Tinubu’s reforms have begun yielding tangible progress across several sectors of the economy.
According to him, the administration’s consistency in implementing its “Renewed Hope Agenda” is restoring faith in Nigeria’s long-term economic recovery.
He said the visible improvements in infrastructure, agriculture, and investment flow are convincing more Nigerians that the APC-led government is steering the country toward stability. “When people begin to see real results, they naturally align with the source of progress,” Otu stated.
APC focused on service, not internal politics
Addressing speculations of tension within the party, Otu dismissed claims of division, stressing that the APC remains united in purpose.
He explained that the governing structure of the party ensures equal opportunity for both old and new members, fostering inclusivity and cooperation.
“Our concern is delivering good governance, not internal rivalry,” he said. “The APC is built on fairness and progress, so every member has equal access to leadership opportunities.”
He emphasised that the party’s strength lies in its ability to harmonise diverse interests and maintain stability, noting that governors under the Tinubu administration are more focused on aligning state policies with federal development goals than engaging in political wrangling.
Renewed hope agenda driving growth and unity
Governor Otu also praised the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” describing it as a blueprint for sustainable development and inclusive growth.
He highlighted improvements in non-oil revenue generation, agricultural productivity, and infrastructure as evidence that the reforms are reshaping Nigeria’s economy.
He added that the country’s diversification efforts were paying off, with agriculture now contributing significantly to GDP growth.
“We are on the right path,” Otu affirmed. “This is the time for unity, not division. Nigerians should rally around this vision of transformation.”
Otu concluded by urging citizens to maintain faith in the Tinubu administration, assuring that continued collaboration between the federal and state governments would deliver lasting prosperity. “Nigeria is moving forward,” he said. “The results are visible, and we are determined to build on them for future generations.”
