President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally presented Vice President Kashim Shettima with a certificate confirming his nomination as the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The symbolic presentation took place on Thursday at the President’s office inside the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, marking another step in the APC’s preparations for the next presidential poll.
A video of the event was shared by presidential media aide, Dada Olusegun, on his official 𝕏 account.
Captioning the clip, Olusegun wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presents certificate to Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate in the 2027 election.”

The brief ceremony underscored the ruling party’s decision to retain the Tinubu-Shettima ticket for the 2027 presidential race.
The APC had earlier confirmed President Tinubu as its presidential candidate, while Shettima was retained as his running mate, setting the stage for the party’s bid for a second term in office.
