President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Ibadan, Oyo State, to attend the coronation of the new Olubadan, Rashidi Ladoja.
The presidential jet took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with the President expected to join other dignitaries at Mapo Hall for the historic installation ceremony.

Ladoja ascends the throne as 44th Olubadan
Rashidi Ladoja, 81, a respected businessman, politician, and former governor of Oyo State, was selected as the 44th Olubadan following the passing of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7.
Having risen through the traditional chieftaincy hierarchy of Ibadan, Ladoja’s journey to the throne reflects over three decades of steady progress in line with the unique succession system of the city.
His ascension has been described as a moment of pride for Ibadanland and the Yoruba people at large.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland remains the paramount traditional ruler of the city, which is one of the largest in West Africa. The throne carries immense cultural, political, and historical significance in Yoruba society.
