President Bola Tinubu has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, describing him as one of the standout performers in his cabinet as he marked his birthday.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president congratulated Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, commending his courage, resilience and dedication to public service.
Tinubu said Wike’s life and career have been defined by purpose and commitment, describing him as an audacious leader who continues to deliver results despite challenges.
He highlighted the ongoing transformation of Abuja under Wike’s leadership, citing the resolution of the 14-year impasse over the construction of the Apo–Karshi Road as a key achievement.
According to the president, Wike’s performance has reinforced his reputation as “Mr Project,” noting that the moniker is no longer limited to his tenure in Rivers State.
“Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the Federal Capital as never seen before,” Tinubu said. “I commend him for being one of the champions of our Renewed Hope Agenda, even though he belongs to another party.”
The president thanked the FCT minister for his contributions to infrastructure development and governance in the capital and wished him good health and continued strength in the years ahead.
