President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the 30th anniversary of his ascension to the throne, marked on November 11, 2025.
President Tinubu praised the revered monarch, describing him as a visionary leader whose dedication has contributed immensely to the growth and stability of Ilorin.
The President commended the Emir’s courage, integrity and unflinching commitment to justice, noting that his reign has been defined by fairness and a deep sense of responsibility.
He acknowledged the Emir’s collaborative spirit with successive Kwara State administrations, which he said has fostered peace and paved the way for Ilorin’s unprecedented development.
Tinubu stated: “The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, is a man of honour and dignity. He served this country with distinction before ascending the throne, and continues to serve as Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano.
“In the judiciary, especially as a Justice of the Court of Appeal, he displayed rare courage, delivering justice without fear or favour.
“During the struggle for democracy, when the military persecuted me, I experienced firsthand his boldness in upholding justice. I remain eternally grateful.”
President Tinubu wished the Emir more years in good health and impactful leadership.
