President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Dr Mrs Victoria Hansatu Gowon, wife of former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, on her 80th birthday, describing her as a woman whose life has been marked by grace, compassion and selfless service.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended Victoria Gowon for the noble role she played in supporting her husband during his tenure as Nigeria’s Head of State, particularly at a challenging period in the nation’s history.
The President described the celebrant as “a woman of substance, a devoted wife, a compassionate nurse and a source of strength and inspiration to many.”
According to him, Victoria Gowon also made positive contributions to national development while promoting values capable of strengthening and uniting families, communities and the nation.
Tinubu said attaining the age of 80 was a significant milestone deserving gratitude to God for His grace, preservation and blessings.
“On behalf of my family, the Government and people of Nigeria, I warmly congratulate you on your birthday,” the President said.
He prayed that God would continue to grant Victoria Gowon good health, wisdom and strength, while blessing her with many more years of fulfilment, peace and happiness.
