Tinubu celebrates Nigerian lawyer Tolu Obamuroh’s rise to global legal spotlight

President Bola Tinubu has praised Nigerian lawyer, Tolu Obamuroh, for his appointment as a Partner at the global law firm, White & Case LLP.

The firm, which operates in over 30 cities across the world, confirmed that Obamuroh would join its International Arbitration Practice in Paris from January 2026.

In a message released by the Presidency on Friday, Tinubu described the recognition as proof that Nigerian professionals continue to excel globally when given equal opportunity and support.

The President noted that such international achievements bring pride to the nation and reinforce Nigeria’s image as a country rich in talent and intellect.

He also commended Obamuroh for “representing the resilience and brilliance of young Nigerians breaking barriers in highly competitive global environments.”

A trailblazer in international arbitration

Tolu Obamuroh’s elevation makes him one of only a handful of African lawyers to attain partnership in the firm’s global arbitration unit.

Known for his skill in managing cross-border disputes, he has handled several high-profile cases involving energy and infrastructure projects across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Colleagues familiar with his work describe him as “sharp-minded and strategic,” with a reputation for delivering sound legal solutions in complex international cases.

Back home, Obamuroh has also been involved in advisory roles for the Nigerian government on arbitration matters, working under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice.

Tinubu urges youths to emulate excellence

President Tinubu used the opportunity to call on young Nigerians to take inspiration from Obamuroh’s professional journey.

According to him, global recognition is attainable through diligence, integrity and a commitment to excellence.

He stated that the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda envisions a generation of Nigerians leading across all fields, from technology to law and academia.

Tinubu concluded by wishing Obamuroh continued success, noting that his accomplishment demonstrates how Nigerians can stand tall in international spaces while contributing positively to national development.
