“Time will tell” – Ayodele claims Trump plans to back Jonathan against Tinubu

Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stirred fresh controversy with a warning to both the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition.

In a recent message, Ayodele claimed former U.S. President Donald Trump was planning to use former Nigerian leader, Goodluck Jonathan, against President Bola Tinubu in future political battles.

The cleric stated that he was only delivering what he described as a divine revelation, stressing that it was left to Jonathan and the political class to either take the warning seriously or dismiss it.

Context around Jonathan

Jonathan, who led Nigeria between 2010 and 2015, has repeatedly dismissed speculations of a return to the presidential race. In 2022, his name was floated ahead of the All Progressives Congress primaries, but the former president denied any interest.

Ayodele, however, did not provide further details on how or when the alleged Trump support would play out, only insisting that “time will tell.” His comments have since generated wide debate online.

Neither Jonathan nor Trump has reacted to the claim, and no evidence has been provided to support the prophecy.

Mixed online reactions

Joelad wrote, “Make Tinubu first comot sha. Nigeria was still okay under GEJ. Yes, there was the Chibok girls saga and that was very unfortunate, but under Buhari and Tinubu, insecurity has been the order of the day. GEJ was the last president with a decent naira to dollar exchange rate. There was less inflation too. Please, all of this talk is not necessary. Remove Tinubu with immediacy.”

Atobajaye25 commented, “This pastor should just declare his interest in politics too, instead of sitting on the fence and hiding behind prophecies.”

iamcrypto_alien added, “Them done dey use religion push agenda again, it’s only a matter of time before tribalism go enter.

Another user, Ugo_Shib, reacted with, “I spit on you people, madness everywhere.

TruthBeToldOO1 dismissed the claim entirely, saying, “Primate Elijah Ayodele’s claim that Donald Trump will back Goodluck Jonathan against Tinubu in 2027 is baseless sensationalism. Trump has his own issues, and Jonathan has denied presidential ambitions. Ayodele’s unfulfilled prophecies should be questioned. Truth be told, this is just noise.”

What this means

For now, Ayodele’s prophecy remains an unverified claim without any confirmation from the parties involved.

While it has sparked conversation among Nigerians online, the political future of Jonathan and Tinubu will ultimately depend on real actions rather than predictions.
