They Tell You There Is No Gov’t Ever Like The Gov’t Of President Tinubu — Momodu

Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the ADC, has condemned how supporters of President Bola Tinubu’s administration claim there has never been a government like his, but he insists that psychologically, what they mean is the opposite, that this government is not doing the right thing.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Momodu made this statement while answering questions on what the ADC is doing to present a viable alternative for Nigerians. He argued that the ruling APC has created an uneven political field that makes it difficult for opposition parties to thrive.

He maintained that the APC controls enormous state resources, influences security institutions, and appoints the leadership of INEC, giving it structural advantages over the opposition parties.

Momodu questioned the democratic integrity of a system where, in his view, political actors appear to wield influence across both the APC and the PDP. He stressed that President Tinubu should not interfere in PDP matters, just as the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, should not speak for the APC, since he does not formally belong to it.

He further alleged that fear has driven several governors toward the ruling party, citing concerns about anti-corruption agencies and political survival. According to Momodu, the opposition must adopt a strategic and different approach rather than using the same strategy the APC is using.

He challenged Tinubu’s economic policy, pointing out that after removing the fuel subsidy, his government continues to borrow loans. He argued that Nigerians have yet to see tangible benefits from these policies.

In his words, “They tell you that, oh, there is no government ever like the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. No problem, maybe it’s reverse psychology that this government actually is not doing what it is supposed to be doing.”

“So when they talk about everything you removed the fuel subsidy from day one, you have not been able to tell us how it has affected Nigeria positively.”

“All the people are feeling is the negative effect of the subsidy. You are taking more loans than all the governments of Nigeria combined; we have not seen the effect of that loan.”See_More…
